Julie Chen Moonves is the host of Big Brother's 22nd season that premiered on CBS 5 August 2018. Chen Moonves served as moderator, and was one of the first hosts of The Talk. She won the Daytime Emmy Award for her work. Her writing background was evident before becoming host, however her true passion was to write. It actually brought the show an Emmy. She won another Emmy for hosting an outstanding entertainment talk program. The Talk examines contemporary events, through the lens of five hosts. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News' early morning news broadcast The Early Show for a 10 years. Prior to this, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor as well as the anchor for news for The Early Show. She was sent to Cairo in the aftermath of 9/11, and she conducted an exclusive and riveting discussion with the father who was the primary terrorist who took over the world. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. She also spoke with ex- New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani as well as Queen Rania. Prior to The Early Show he was a CBS own station journalist in New York City, WCBS. When she was finishing her last year of college, she was an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and served as the producer of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news program). Her first position in broadcasting was as a desk associate to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline along with Ted Koppel, who remains among her journalistic heros. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker for Anatomy of a Riot (the Premiertime Special of Columbia du-Pont that examined how the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
